Charity soccer event at RIT to fight HIV in Africa

A charity soccer tournament at Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, organized by student Marisol Martinez, will help raise money to fight HIV/AIDS affliction in Africa.

Lynn Hoblitzel never attended art or design school, but she has created a garden area that neighbors call amazing. Within that large garden, she also runs a business, Stone's Throw, that sells homemade steppingstones and other stone artwork. Developing an effective model for educating future teachers is critical to our national effort to improve student achievement. But programs like Teach for America and N.Y.C. Teaching Fellows that train candidates during the summer and then send them into the classroom do not provide that model.
