Annual New England Model Train Expo to pull into Best Western

The nonprofit HUB Division is hosting its annual New England Model Train Expo on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Model Railroad Club sets 10th anniversary celebration Oct. 1

Ten years ago Tansi resident Mike Ferry decided Crossville needed a model railroad club.  Ferry and a handful of fellow hobbyists started meeting at the Crossville Depot to hold modeling classes and discuss model railroading.

Train Show and Swap Meet attract hundreds

MISSOULA - Collectors and admirers, young and old, gathered in Big Sky High School to check out the 32nd annual Train Show and Swap Meet. The Missoula Model Railroad Club presented the event that allowed vendors to pack in, show off their merchandise and display a variety of working model trains.

Train fans share variety of memorabilia at Galesburg show

In conjunction with the Amtrak 40th Anniversary Exhibit Train stop in Galesburg, there was a Train and Memorabilia Show in the former Carriage House furniture store Saturday. Collectors from across the state came to Galesburg to show off, and in most cases to sell, their assorted memorabilia.

When Bill Albright was 9 years old, he got his first American Flyer model train. Almost 70 years later, he still had it — along with an elaborate train platform that can run about nine trains at once, taking up most of a two-car garage.

Clovis couple’s garden railway a labor of love

A Clovis couple have transformed their backyard garden into an oasis for model trains. Cal and Juanita Terrasas of Clovis have created a garden railway scene that depicts a train chugging its way through the Tehachapi mountains in their backyard on Birch Avenue.
