The annual Seasons Greenings display at the U.S. Botanic Garden featuring model trains running around miniature buildings in the garden greenhouses opens Thanksgiving Day and runs through Jan. 2. The two development groups vying to remodel Denver’s Union Station are wooing the model train group, says the Denver Post. The city will announce the winner of the redevelopment project, but both want to showcase model trains of the Denver Society of Model Railroaders, which occupies the basement of the building. Inside a room of the Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education on Sunday morning, train whistles blew and children cheered as model trains barrelled around handmade tracks. In another room, families crowded around vendors’ stands, eager to purchase their own model train sets.
