April 30th, 2010 | by |While post offices across the country are closing or cutting staff and service hours, Lindenhurst's longtime contract postal unit in Village Hall, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road, could be considered a model for the future. In the mid-1980s, former Mayor Robert Ratch pushed for a post office and a separate ZIP code for Lindenhurst.
