Model railroad show to be held in Lakewood

On Sept. 25-26 the Lakewood Heritage Commission and the Lakewood Historical Society will host a model railroad show for the benefit of the Lakewood Heritage Museum, featuring the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders. The train show will be in the cafeteria of Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Ave, Lakewood. The hours will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. read more

Talking Transportation: Keeping that ol’ car running

My constant harangue against traffic and in favor of trains aside, I do own a car: a used ’97 Honda Accord with 130,000 miles on it. It’s a great car (the interior infused with cigar smoke notwithstanding), and I hope to run it into the ground.

OCHS holiday exhibit includes model trains (Brick Township Bulletin)

Model trains will be rolling at the Ocean County Historical Society (OCHS), 26 Hadley Ave., Toms River, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26-27. O gauge and HO gauge layouts from the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders will be operating on the lower level of the Society Museum for kids of all ages.
