"Gothic Gardens in Autumn," Phipps Conservatory's fall flower show, opens next Saturday and runs through Nov. 7 in Oakland. All 13 types of chrysanthemums and other fall-bloomers will be displayed with pumpkins, gourds and creatures and sets from this summer's show, "Gargoyles in the Garden."

These gardens sprout miniature railroads
The Lansing Model Railroad Club was joined by the Capital Area Railway Society and the Grand Rapids Model Railroad Historical Society to host the inaugural Train Day at the Michigan 4-H Childrens Garden at MSU, and the garden plans to expand the clubs involved for next year.
