House fire claims life of area man

Despite heroic rescue efforts by neighbours and firefighters, a 56-year-old Seeleys Bay man died in a weekend house fire on the village's main street. Clifford Smith was alone at 167 Main Street when neighbours reported smoke billowing out of the bungalow at around 4 p.m.
