Back on May 10, 1869, Union PacificĀ  No. 119 and Central Pacific No. 60, better known as the Jupiter, met at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory, for the laying of the Golden Spike joining the rails of the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States.

In recent months, Jenny Sanford, the scorned wife of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, has become somewhat of an oft-sung heroine. Her graceful public response to her husband's very public affair compelled the Washington Post to call her a "role model," Newsweek to deem her a "media genius", and even actress Julianna Margulies (of ER fame) to chime in, calling her "so unbelievably classy."
