Eurostar to Buy Siemens Trains in Bid to Counter Deutsche Bahn

Eurostar will begin a redesign and overhaul of its existing fleet next year and purchase 10 new train sets from Siemens AG able to reach speeds of 320 kilometers an hour (198 mph), adding 900 seats, it said today in an e-mailed statement.

Siemens, OAO Russian Railways to Sign $2.8 Billion Regional Trains Deal

Siemens AG, the German maker of the ICE high-speed train, is poised to clinch a 2.2 billion-euro ($2.8 billion) order from Russia for 240 regional trains , as Prime Minister Vladimir Putin works to upgrade infrastucture.

YTL: KL-S’pore bullet train project economically viable (Business Times (Malaysia))

DIVERSIFIED group YTL Corp Bhd ( 4677 ) said it still believes the high-speed bullet train linking Kuala Lumpur to neighbouring Singapore is an economically viable project and hopes the government will reconsider its implementation.
