Train fans share variety of memorabilia at Galesburg show

In conjunction with the Amtrak 40th Anniversary Exhibit Train stop in Galesburg, there was a Train and Memorabilia Show in the former Carriage House furniture store Saturday. Collectors from across the state came to Galesburg to show off, and in most cases to sell, their assorted memorabilia.

Railroad Festival on track for good run

A TV show featuring "Thomas the Tank Engine" put 3 1/2-year-old Ethan Findlay on track to being a railroad fan, says his father, David Findlay. Ethan sat on his dad's shoulders Saturday as they gazed at model train exhibits inside the Great Overland Station during that venue's fourth annual Topeka Railroad Festival. read more

National Train Day arrived Saturday, a week ahead of schedule, with a big show at the Toledo Amtrak Station at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Plaza, near downtown.The station’s ground floor and third floor were filled with all manner of displays relating to railroads, including elaborate model trains. Outside on the tracks was a Norfolk Southern freight locomotive that had plenty of sightseers ...
